South Wight Area Youth (SWAY)

South Wight Area Youth (SWAY) Partnership received a grant of £8,228 from the National Emergencies Trust to help local people, including ‘Molly’, who was experiencing serious behavioural problems with her children during lockdown.

Online schooling and the stay at home restrictions were proving extremely challenging for the family, but fortunately the Families Worker from SWAY was able to provide support to prevent escalation of the difficulties they were experiencing.

During the Covid-19 crisis, SWAY has also been able to reduce the impact of isolation on vulnerable families through a range of online and socially distanced activities, including cooking, poetry and kayaking.

It’s vital that these relationships continue as they offer a stable reliable contact for the family whatever happens during the coming months.
